Education
Sophia Kemp graduated BA (hons) Illustration and Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, University of the Arts London in 2006.
She recently completed her MA Illustration at Camberwell College of Art and Design, also part of the University of the Arts London. She is also writing and illustrating a series of illustrated poems, with the hope of publishing them in the near future.
Exhibitions
'Intimacy' solo exhibition at the Black and Asian film festival at the BAC, 2007.
Sophia was selected to create a collection of artwork to be exhibited alongside the film festival. The theme of intimacy and disconnection within relationships is a recurring theme throughout Sophia's writing and illustration.
'One Day' group exhibition themed “Moments of Magic in Modern Life” at the Stolenspace Gallery in Brick Lane, 2010.
The concept of the exhibition was to exhibit for one day only. 24 Illustrators took part, each illustrating one hour in the day. Each hour depicted a moment of magic in modern life happening at the given time. It proved to be a diverse and engaging show with many interpretations of what is magical about the modern age.
